We are thrilled to announce that Sébastien Desmarais has joined Pryor Tax Law, effective August 2nd, 2016. Sébastien will be working out of Ottawa, and will also be available to assist clients from our Toronto offices.

Sébastien’s practice encompasses all aspects of tax planning, with a particular focus on Will, trust and estate planning.    His areas of expertise include personal tax and estate planning, family business succession planning, corporate reorganizations, Wills and trusts, powers of attorney, farm succession, ODSP and planning for the disabled person, Henson trusts and RDSPs, guardianship applications, probate, intestate succession and estate administration. 

His experience and reputation will be an asset to our clients in helping them with their domestic and international tax issues.  With the state of today’s economy and globalization, Sébastien’s breadth of knowledge and educational background (Canadian common law and civil law degrees and a U.S. J.D.) allow him to assist clients dealing with assets and issues around the world, including the U.S. and the civil law jurisdictions of Europe.  
Sébastien is bilingual and practices in both French and English. He is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics including estates, trusts, corporate and tax matters. He has appeared on radio and television discussing legal issues and before the Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce regarding the RDSP.
